Tom Behm was active in theatre for young audiences for more than 40 years. He was artistic director of the North Carolina Theatre for Young People and their professional touring company at the University of North Carolina-Greensboro for 34 years. Behm is a graduate of Northwestern University and the University of Kansas, and he served in leadership roles with the Children's Theatre Foundation, Children's Theatre Association of America, ASSITEJ-USA and regional and state theatre organizations. His two published plays are Tarheel Tales and How Things Happen in Three! In 2002, Behm and his wife retired to Wilmington, N.C., where he is active with community theatre and other arts organizations.
