Synopsis
The "Lady" comes into the Texas Panhandle Café where she sits and stares at Jeffrey Wexlar Pendergast who is known as a man of unquestionable—if unexplainable—wealth. The "Lady" continues to stare and smile and, slowly, it begins to drive Pendergast out of his mind. This new cat and mouse romp by the same author who wrote the highly successful one-act Rest in Peace has colorful characters and interesting coloquial dialogue. It also has a special fascination as both we and Pendergast finally find out just who is this Lady Who Knew Something.
